You might have noticed new metrics in Google Analytics Reports. This new parameter makes it difficult to read the data and you won’t be able to provide the best solution.
You might be thinking about how to exclude fbclid parameter from Google Analytics?
Before that!
What is fbclid?
fbclid is a Facebook Click Identifier. When every you share a link on Facebook and someone clicks on that link and comes to your site.
Facebook is going to add this parameter in the URL and this will be added in Google Analytics Reports.
What are the problems you will face if you don’t remove it.
All the traffic coming from Facebook will have a fbclid parameter which makes your data difficult to read and there will be a duplicate entry of the same URL with different parameters.
It will be difficult for you to analyze the data. Hubspot also adds the Query parameter if you have connected Google Ads. We have already discussed how to remove Hubspot Query Parameters in Google Analytics
